Kids programme for 2014 is coming together nicely – here is what we already know… more to come…
Saturday is the family day at SherstonFest and kids under 14 get in for free on Saturday (if accompanied by a ticket carrying adult), and we have a range of engaging and interesting activities (aka cheap ways to keep the kids busy while you get on the cider).
So there is a great line up for the little darlings but this year we have gone one further as many of the kids in the village will also be on stage!. No we aren’t expecting a mass stage invasion by the under 12’s – but we have asked our own arena filling “Sherston Young Voices Choir” to open the show on Saturday afternoon.
Mrs Berry and the choir , fresh from their sell out gig @ the NEC arena, will be performing their greatest hits set on the main stage to kick off proceedings – obviously this is a bit of a comedown from their normal stadium filling shows, but now they are mega stars they are taking this opportunity to give something back to the little people who have helped put them where they are today…… 🙂
We are also running Samba drumming workshops again this year for kids and adults – but unlike last year when we banished them to the outer reaches for a few hours this year we are going to have a number of shorter and smaller sessions in the arena in between acts. No need to pre book – just turn up on the day and put your name down
But it doesn’t stop there!! Oh no!! During the day our little darlings will also be able to amuse them selves in the junk modeling area where amongst other things they can make all manner of things for you to slip quietly in the bin when they aren’t looking 🙂
And there is even more!! Added to last years face painting and hair braiding Chers Funky Faces will also be offering henna tattoos, plus Build-a-Pizza will be making a welcome return where the kids can make their own pizzas and see them cooked in traditional pizza oven (they can even eat them of they aren’t too “grey” and/or been on the floor too many times!!)
This year we also have a juggling and magic stall as one of our traders – although Mike won’t be running formal classes he’ll more than happily show folks how it’s done before little Johnny nags you to buy a diablo to brain his little sister with… ?
So there you have it – add in some sunshine, some great music and a few cheeky ciders – what could possibly go wrong!!
Just Doin’ It For The Kids…….…. as Robbie and Kylie once said!!
Do you have a mailing list so we can find out about the earlybird tickets for next year?
yep – just drop a mail to list@sherstonfest.com !!
Hello, is a kids ticket the same price as adult tickets or do children go free under a certain age? Thanks 🙂
Kids under 14 get in free with an adult on Saturday – Friday night is over 14s only
Cheers
Are you not able to camp with children on the Friday then?
